Has anything unlucky happened to you today?
Nothing horrible per-say....do out of control kindergarteners count (it wasn't even their last day of school....[maybe that was the problem???] i was at a year round school)?
What are some of the best(and worst) things about summer?
Submitted by L33tchica.
I think this is a fairly straightforward questions. Summer is a great time to travel to new places, play outside, go to the beach, have a break from school/work (yaaa working in education), and have cookouts. The worst aspects are to more obvious ones: heat, sunburns, humidity, large crowds.
How are you spending this Memorial Day? How will it differ from Memorial Days past?
I twent on a picnic w/Kimmiez. We had a ton of foodage then walked around the Botanical Gardens in Tysons where we saw a bunch of animalz. The best was the goose that hissed @ me when i tried to feed him some bread. Turns out i was a few inches away from his nest of eggs that his wife was about to sit on. I left him alone and went back to my yummy brownie. The male duck was a very good daddy and stood the whole time protecting the nest and glaring/ruffling his feathers @ ducks that got to close....Kim & i agree he must be a new father and will soon slack off and start watching TV/being a bum.
If you're getting one, how are you planning on spending your tax refund?
From the federal government i'm planning to use it to pay for student loans, gather supplies for peace corps, & put into savings....now if only it was large enough to actually do all three of those things.
From the state gov i donated a whopping $0.25 to VA education.
I've read that financially it is best to break even....but it is definitely more fun to get a large refund.
What do you love about where you live?

It is pretty close to most everything someone could want to do. There is a good selection of stores within 10-30 minutes (when traffic is good). There are a bunch of nice parks and places to go hiking. The schools are relativity good (compared to other areas) and pay decently compared to some other areas. The weather for the most part is good. I'll keep this post positive and stick to just the positives.
Share a story of a time you acted foolishly.
When i was at camp this summer (that should give it away right there...camp & foolishness go together), all of the counselors were gathered together on the dinning room porch after the campers had just left. We were waiting for the camp director to come and give us our paychecks so we could disperse for the weekend. I don't even remember why there were Frisbees laying around...but a impromptu Frisbee fight broke out and the next few minutes were spent with Frisbees flying.
What's your favorite thing about being sick?
Booo, not a cool question (when i am starting to feel sick again after i thought i was getting better). I suppose if it gets me out of doing something i didn't want to do. If on the other hand there are things i want/need to do then it is not so cool. Take tomorrow for example....i'm supposed to sub for my teacher who is out of the country. I'm not entirely sure how i would go about calling in sick even if i needed to. I even went out and bought some cold medicine, which i never do....it better do a good job of masking my symptoms for the day.
What have you tried in life that you just weren't very good at?
Basketball. I played for a few years during middle and high school on a community team, but i think i scored a total for 2 or 3 baskets in games. I have a bunch of trophies b/c somehow i always ended up on teams of pretty good players. It was fun most of the time though, i'd love to start playing again if i found a team of non-competitive, not to good players.
How are you celebrating St. Patrick's Day?
When i was @ school today a Leprechaun came into the classroom and messed up the room. He left chocolate for the children and even drew on the tables. Next store he left green footprints on the floor! Luckly he came at the end of the day so the children we not to crazy all day (especially since their teachers told them if they were to noisy they might frighten the Leprechaun away.)
What makes a good President of the United States?
Wow, there are such a large number of things:
- Caring about people (not just your friends or rich buddies who give you money/donations)
- Basic knowledge in a large number of areas (Basic like you actually paid some attention in college not basic like you passed high school)
- The ability to listen to people who know what they are talking about in their given field (not thinking that you know everything and are smarter than say scientists, teachers, ext.)
- Enough people skills to not make everyone hate you/the US
- Being able to admit/apologize for mistakes you make (cause you will make them)
Not being to conservativehas never eaten a squirrel- and the list could go on and on and on......
